We recently had the opportunity to complete a project in the gorgeous Plaza Condominiums in the PNC building in downtown Raleigh. These condos feature 10-foot ceilings and floor to ceiling windows which make for unparalleled views of the capital city. The downside to these popular amenities is that the windows generate quite a bit of heat and glare, especially for the condos that face west. Residents invest well in the fine furnishings and flooring in their condos and without protection from the sun, furniture and floors can be damaged quickly due to the sun exposure from large windows.
The solution is Insolroll’s Silver Screen fabric. The fabric is constructed with an aluminum-like backing designed to reflect the sun and keep the heat and glare out of the living space. With this project, we used Insolroll’s Silver Screen on the western facing windows of the condominium. For the bedroom we opted for a black-out screen and installed a grey Silver Screen in the office. Our customers were thrilled with the results!
