We’ve had the pleasure of working in the beautiful PNC building in downtown Raleigh, NC before. As we said then, completing projects in these downtown condominiums reminds us of how versatile North Carolina is. Downtown Raleigh offers the feel and the vibe of a large city, without losing its southern charm. Much like this fabulous city, Insolroll shades offer quite a bit of versatility.
The condominiums in the PNC building in downtown Raleigh feature 10-foot ceilings and floor to ceiling windows which offer downtown views any city-dweller would envy. As with everything, there is a downside to the spectacular view. The windows generate a lot of heat and glare and without the proper protection, the well-appointed interiors of these residences can become faded and damaged by the sun much faster than you would expect.
Retracting Solutions previously installed motorized Insolroll shades in one of these downtown beauties, but this most recent project served as the first installation of manual Insolroll shades in this building. By using the Insolroll manual shades, the homeowners were able to achieve the same result as residents with motorized units at a fraction of the cost. Because the motorized units require the work of an electrician in the installation process, the cost is higher.
This project is a reminder that while the motorized units from Insolroll are truly amazing and convenient, there is a less expensive option that offers the same protection to your home while preserving your view. The manual shades come in all the same numerous fabric options as the motorized line and comes with an optional spring assist which makes the manual lifting of the shades much easier.
It’s important to keep in mind that while we can offer and install products with all the “bells and whistles” you might want and we love to feature those products. But, there are ways to shade your home on a smaller budget without sacrificing quality. Consider the option of manual shades on your larger windows.
