This amazing Wrightsville Beach home truly does not need many words to go along with the stunning photos provided here. But, we do want to say a few things about this project before you enjoy the view.
This home features two porches overlooking a swimming pool and the Atlantic Ocean. As you can imagine, the homeowners did not want this view obstructed in any way. However, one of the porches features an oven and dining space and having completely open-air porches wasn’t ideal, especially at the beach. Also, if you’ve ever experienced a summer evening at the beach in NC, you’ve met a few “no-see-ums,” the annoying little bugs that can spoil a beautiful evening.
The solution for these homeowners was to mount fixed mesh between the columns. The mesh is appropriately named No-See-Um mesh. This mesh is strong and capable of withstanding 50 mph winds, which is an important factor for beach homes. When stronger weather is expected, the screens can be rolled-up and protected from destructive wind speeds.
